Ao Nang (Krabi) – Four Days Itinerary
Ao Nang is a laid-back beach destination in the Krabi province of Thailand. The girlfriend and I enjoyed our short holiday here and below is our four days itinerary to help you plan your trip. Ao Nang is not as touristy as Phuket or Koh Samui, but there are still many great activities and awesome food. For more details on the restaurants and activities mentioned in the itinerary below, as well as directions on how to get to the places, you can check out the two links below. 6 Places to Eat in Ao Nang (Krabi, Thailand)
Day 1 – Ao Nang Beach, Krabi Town
Ao Nang Beach
Krabi Town
Ao Nang Beach
For our first day in Ao Nang, we strolled along the scenic Ao Nang Beach that is flanked by towering limestone cliffs on one side. Even though it was quite sunny, we really enjoyed the knock-out view here. The beach boasts emerald-green waters, a long coastline, and soft caramel-hued sand.
Krabi Town
In the evening, we made our way to Krabi Town, a local town that has retained its rustic and laid-back allure despite the infrastructure developments in many other parts of Krabi. We had a fantastic time at Krabi Town Walking Street (aka Thanon Khon Dern), a vibrant night market that only opens on Friday to Sunday, between 6pm to 9.30pm, behind Vogue Department Store. The night market provided interesting insights into the local culture and there were plenty of DELICIOUS street food too!
Day 2 – Railay Beach, Krabi Sunset Cruise

Railay Beach
The next day, we visited Railay Beach, a beach that is very popular in Ao Nang too. Railay Beach consists of four beaches: Railay West, Railay East, Phra Nang Beach, and Tonsai Bay. Our favourite was the Phra Nang Beach as it has beautiful soft white sand and boasts a wonderful view of the emerald-green sea and awe-inspiring limestone cliffs.
Krabi Sunset Cruise
This was the highlight of our trip! We had a fantastic time with Krabi Sunset Cruises which brought us for a fun-filled day of snorkeling, cliff-climbing and visiting the beautiful offshore islands. And of course, what better way is there to watch the splendid sunset of Krabi than from the awesome vantage point of a boat in the middle of the sea?
Day 3 – Krabi Four Islands Tour
The Krabi Four Islands Tour is a popular island-hopping tour that will bring you to visit the famous “Four Islands” of Krabi and Phra Nang Beach. The Four Islands consist of Turtle Island, Chicken Island, Tub Island, and Mor Island. We went for a private tour with Andaman Camp and Cruise which meant we had more privacy and also flexibility over our schedule. On the whole we had an awesome experience.
Day 4 – Nopparat Thara Beach, Fine Dining
Nopparat Thara Beach
Sumptuous seafood at Lae Lay Grill
Nopparat Thara Beach
On our last day in Ao Nang (Krabi), we made our way to the tranquil Nopparat Thara Beach, which is within walking distance from Ao Nang Beach. This is a beautiful beach with a long coastline and is more popular with the locals. The water at the beach is relatively shallow and we saw a number of children frolicking in the emerald-green waters.
Fine Dining at Lae Lay Grill
Since it was our last night in Ao Nang, we decided to pamper ourselves by booking a dinner at the upscale restaurant Lae Lay Grill. The restaurant offers delicious seafood served in a classy setting. We dined on the second floor balcony area and got an awesome view of the beautiful sunset. This was the perfect place for a romantic date with good food and champagne.
