Curtain Suite – Awesome Blinds and Curtains Store in Singapore

For our house curtains, we went with Curtain Suite, an established blinds and curtains store in Singapore. After some research, we decided to engage this company because we saw many positive reviews on its Facebook page. This article was last updated on 23 January 2020 with the current condition of the curtains, see bottom of this article.

Looking through the fabric samples

We contacted Curtain Suite via their Facebook page initially. After that, we made an appointment via Whatsapp (+65 97533345) to go down to their showroom on 18 Nov 2017. The lady serving us at the showroom was Hejia. She was very polite and patient, and gave us many useful advice on how to choose our curtains. We gave her rough measurements of our windows and she provided us with an estimated price.

We browsed through many samples and had a feel of the curtain fabrics on display. However, after the session we were still undecided. Therefore, we took pictures of the samples and went home to further think it through.

Onsite Measurements of Our Windows

About one month later on 13 Dec, three friendly staff from Curtain Suite came down to take the exact measurements of our curtains. They also brought along samples and provided us with some suggestions on the appropriate curtain fabrics to use. By now, we had decided that we would be using roller blinds for our service yard and study room. For our living room and Master Bedroom we would be using curtains. However, we were still contemplating on the fabrics and blind materials. We took such a long time because we knew the curtains / blinds would significantly affect the look our house, so we wanted to ensure that we were making the right decision!

On 23 Dec, we went down to the Curtain Suite showroom to make payment, as well as inform Hejia of our fabric choices. After much thought and discussion, we decided to go with the fabrics below:

Living Room
For our living room, we went with Jotex Fabrics: Flexibile Dimmer-10 Ivory because it has a nice light grey tone that would fit in nicely with the colour theme of our living room. The fabric is also quite thick with a delicate smooth texture. For our sheer curtain, we chose a pure white fabric (Article:Day, Colour: 01-White) with a weight of 260 gram / meter. It matches the opaque curtain nicely. The translucent fabric also provides some degree of privacy while still allowing light through.

Service Yard

 

We went with the Roller Blind Soflex Sunscreen Pure White 7100 for our service yard because the white colour blind blended perfectly with the white colour theme of our kitchen. It also provides privacy because the blind material is almost opaque and can prevent view-through even when backlit.

Study Room
For our study room, we decided to use the Roller Blind Soflex Sunscreen Greyish White 7104 which has a light grey colour. This is because our room faces the sun almost directly during noon, and we wanted to be able to block out the harsh sunlight. Like our service yard blind, the material is non-transparent so it provides privacy too.

Master Bedroom
Last but not least, for our master bedroom (MBR) we chose the TLY Home Collection: TLYA-9 because it is a thick fabric with a dark grey colour. This gives it a luxurious vibe which was in line with the theme of our MBR. For the sheer curtain, we used the same fabric as our living room: Article:Day, Colour: 01-White. We have two sets of curtains for our MBR because we knocked down the wall between two bedrooms to create a bigger space.

Installation Day!

Bosch drill with built-in suction

On 08 Jan, one Curtain Suite worker came down to install all the curtains and blinds. He took about three hours in total. I liked that he used a Bosch drill with a built-in suction which literally sucked up the dust as he was drilling. There was still a bit of dust on the floor afterwards which I cleaned up easily with a vacuum cleaner. Overall, the installation was quite smooth but unfortunately the worker was slightly clumsy and knocked into our walls several times. This caused a few black stains on our white walls. We managed to clean most of the stains but there were one or two we couldn’t get rid of completely.

Conclusion

On the whole, we are quite pleased with Curtain Suite’s services. The fabrics are high quality and give an elegant and luxurious vibe. We have been using the curtains and blinds for a few months now and we like how they elevate the look of our house. To be honest, we had pretty high expectations because of the high price we had to pay: the final price came up to slightly over $2000 after discount. Pretty steep price for curtains and blinds I must say. However, Curtain Suite met most of our expectations and I would recommend their services if you are looking for high quality curtains and good service.

Update 23 January 2020

After using the curtains and blinds for around two years, I am happy to report that they are still in perfect condition. I am definitely satisfied with the good workmanship of Curtain Suite.
