During our two-day holiday in Quebec City, we stayed at Le Saint Pierre Auberge Distinctive, a lovely boutique hotel located in Old Quebec. The hotel offers great service, delicious breakfast, and charming rooms with hardwood floors. Below is our detailed review.

Le Saint Pierre Auberge Distinctive is a boutique hotel housed in a centuries-old European building. We decided to stay at this hotel because we really liked the rustic design of the rooms. It is conveniently located in Old Quebec, a charming district with many iconic attractions, boutique shops and popular bistros.

Our favourite part of Le Saint Pierre Auberge Distinctive was the hotel lobby, because we loved its old world charm. The lobby is designed in hues of earthy tones and taupe, and accentuated with French club chairs, a faux fire place and a brick wall. The high ceilings and hardwood floors further add to the allure of this beautiful space. As we visited during Christmas, there was a glittering Christmas tree in the corner. We spent some time relaxing here and of course, taking many photos.

Our Lovely Suite

As we stepped into our Le Saint Pierre Suite, it felt like we were entering a vintage French house. The suite exudes a rustic vibe with its hardwood floors and coarse brick walls, complete with elegant pastel-coloured furniture. Instead of a fire place, there is a modern flat-screen TV mounted on the wall; the heater does the job of keeping the room warm. We loved the large glass windows that allow for plenty of natural daylight to flood the room, giving the room a bright and cheery vibe.

Behind the living room is the dining area equipped with a simple kitchen and coffee machine. From the dining area, we entered our cozy bedroom that has a comfy king-size bed. We opened the classic door in the bedroom to enter the simple but well-equipped bathroom. The hotel provides classy L’Occitane toiletries, which is one of our favourite brands.

Sumptuous Daily Breakfast

Our booking with Le Saint Pierre Auberge Distinctive included breakfast, served daily in the Estèbe lounge. The breakfast menu offers a decent variety of items, such as eggs, pastries, fruits, sandwiches, etc. Both of us had the Early Bird, which consists of two eggs, black forest ham, bacon, and sausage served with fried potatoes, fresh fruit slices and toast. It was really delicious! We sat at a table by the window, watching the falling snow while enjoying our sumptuous breakfast.

Prime Location

Le Saint Pierre Auberge Distinctive is located in Old Quebec. Therefore, it is just a few minutes’ walk away from many iconic attractions, boutique shops, popular bistros and art galleries. In fact, the Musée de la civilisation (Museum of Civilization) is located just across the street from the hotel. This quaint museum holds a variety of exhibitions relating to the humanities, music and history.

Great Service and Friendly Staff

We didn’t have much contact with the hotel staff, because we were out exploring Quebec City most of the time. But we enjoyed great service during the time we did, such as when we were checking in, asking for directions from the receptionist, and having breakfast. All of them spoke English and were very friendly. At night, the hotel left complimentary chocolates on our bed, which was a nice gesture.

On the whole, we had a very pleasant two-night stay at Le Saint Pierre Auberge Distinctive. This is truly a charming hotel with lovely attention to detail. It offers pretty rooms, delicious breakfast, great service and free WiFi. It is located in a beautiful location with many iconic attractions, restaurants and bistros.
