Sofitel Philadelphia – Stylish French Style Hotel in Philly

During our two-day holiday in Philly, we stayed at the Sofitel Philadelphia hotel near Rittenhouse Square. We enjoyed our stay at this semi-luxury hotel very much, and this is our full review of the hotel.

Sofitel Philadelphia

Sofitel Philadelphia is a 4.5 star hotel located in Center City Philadelphia near the tranquil Rittenhouse Square. It offers stylish and very spacious rooms. I really liked the gym which was slightly dated but well-equipped with a range of cardio and resistance machines. The WiFi signal was very strong and we had no problems with the connection at all. The food at the hotel restaurants are prepared using organic vegetables and honey harvested from the hotel’s rooftop, where there are over 480,000 honey bees and a large garden. We found this really impressive but unfortunately we didn’t have time to check out the restaurants. The hotel has a nice lobby bar as well.

Spacious French Style Rooms

We had a very comfortable stay at our Luxury Suite in Sofitel Philadelphia. We loved how much space we had in the 500sqft room! The suite is decorated with dark coloured furnishings that blend elements of French elegance and American style, creating a space that is stylish and comfy at the same time. There was even a plush day bed in the common area, which was perfect for resting after a whole day of exploring Philly. The marble bath was extremely spacious too, with a separate shower cubicle and bath tub. And we were happy to see that the bathroom was stocked with luxurious Lanvin toiletries.

Great Service

Because we had informed the hotel beforehand that we were on our honeymoon, they were nice enough to decorate our king size bed with lovely rose petals in the shape of a heart. We were pleasantly surprised to see this when we entered the room. There were even rose petals at the bathtub and vanity area.

Our room was always cleaned and tidied by the time we returned at night. And it was great to have the nightly turn down service, along with sweet chocolate treats placed in the dimly lighted room.

These might be expected luxuries for the price we were paying, but it still felt really nice and thoughtful of the hotel staff.

Ideal Location

Sofitel Philadelphia is located in a great location near Rittenhouse Square, a tranquil public park with lush trees, pretty sculptures and green spaces. The park is surrounded by classy cafes and restaurants with outdoor seatings that are great for relaxing and people watching. In fact, we had a wonderful al fresco experience at Parc, a French bistro beside the park.

Even though the hotel is very near Rittenhouse Square, the immediate vicinity of the hotel is quite peaceful at night, which allowed us to have a good night’s rest.

Conclusion

Sofitel Philadelphia may not be a premier luxury hotel, but it still impresses with its stylish spacious rooms, decent amenities, good service, and great location. We enjoyed our two night stay here very much and would recommend it to anyone looking for a semi-luxury hotel in Philly.
