The Bryant Park Hotel Review – Luxury Boutique Hotel in Manhattan, New York City

During our holiday in New York City, we stayed at Bryant Park Hotel, a luxury hotel located in Manhattan. We enjoyed our stay here very much as this is a wonderful hotel with awesome rooms, great service and a fantastic location.

The Bryant Park Hotel

The Bryant Park Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel located in Midtown Manhattan just opposite the popular Bryant Park. It offers 128 stylish modern rooms, many with awesome views of the city and Bryant Park. The hotel has a decent 24 hour fitness centre that is equipped with a variety of exercise accessories, free weights and exercise machines. There is complimentary high-speed WiFi too.

The hotel has happy hour at the Cellar Bar on weekdays from 5pm to 6pm, though we didn’t get to enjoy this perk as we usually returned to the hotel after 6pm. The hotel’s restaurant, Koi, offers Japanese-American fusion food. (It seems the Cellar Bar has been refurbished and renamed to Célon Cocktail Bar & Lounge.)

Stylish Room with Beautiful Hardwood Floors

What we loved most about The Bryant Park Hotel was our awesome room! We got a complimentary upgrade to the Junior Suite because we were on our honeymoon. Our spacious room (450 square feet) was modern, simple, but yet stylish. We liked the beautiful hardwood floors, clean white walls, and large glass windows that let natural daylight in, giving the room a bright and cheery vibe. Our room had a perfect view of the pretty Bryant Park, as well as great views of the midtown Manhattan buildings.

The common area had a wooden table, sofa couch and arm chair. It was great for resting and putting our stuff. And of course, the comfortable plush king bed was simply perfect for crashing after a long day of exploring New York City.

Classy Marble Bathroom

Our bathroom was wonderful too. The marble bathroom had a separate bathtub and shower. The water pressure was perfect and I was guilty of spending way too much time in the shower enjoying the bath. The Bryant Park Hotel has our favourite Molten Brown toiletries, and also provides super comfortable fluffy bathrobes.

Fantastic Location

The Bryant Park Hotel is located in a fantastic location in midtown Manhattan. It is directly opposite the pretty Bryant Park, a pretty public park. When we visited during Christmas, the park looked magical with people having fun skating on the large ice rink in the middle of the park. There was also a large Christmas tree and food carts. We visited the park a second time in spring, and this time the park had a much different vibe. We saw many people reading, eating, or relaxing around the lush green lawn. There were even people playing ping pong! This was definitely a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of New York City. After visiting the park, we went to New York Public Library, located just beside the park. This is another popular Manhattan attraction.

In addition, the hotel is near to all the popular Midtown attractions. We only had to walk about ten minutes to reach the famous Times Square. There are also many restaurants, cafes and shops in the immediate vicinity. The 42 St – Bryant Park Metro station is just beside the hotel.

Even though The Bryant Park Hotel is near Times Square, it is still far enough so that the surrounding area is quite peaceful at night. Therefore, we had a very good rest every night.

We enjoyed wonderful service throughout our stay at the hotel. From the start, the hotel concierge was nice enough to give us a complimentary upgrade because we were on our honeymoon. From the moment we entered the hotel, the bellhop was very helpful and quickly helped us with our luggage. There was even a bottle of ice-cold champagne and “Just Married” balloon waiting in the room! This was a really thoughtful and sweet gesture by the hotel.

The hotel service staff was great. Our room was cleaned and tidied up every day without fail. One of our bathroom fittings was slightly faulty (a very minor issue), and we informed the hotel about it. When we returned at night, the issue had been fixed and the service staff even left a note along with “apology chocolates” and extra Molten Brown toiletries! We were thoroughly impressed to say the least.

Last but definitely not least, we really liked the hotel’s turn down service. It was really nice to return every night and see our room with warm lighting, drawn shades and sweet chocolates. Do not forget to tip the hotel staff for their great service!

Conclusion

With its fantastic location, stylish comfortable rooms, and wonderful service, it is no wonder that The Bryant Park Hotel is consistently ranked highly on many hotel sites. The rooms are relatively expensive, but I guess this is expected considering the hotel’s high standard. We decided to pamper ourselves and stay here because we were on our honeymoon. If you are willing to splurge or are celebrating a special occasion, I would highly recommend this luxury boutique hotel.
