I visit Xin Sheng Gor Hiong Prawn Cracker at Boon Lay Place Food Village often to get my fried ngoh hiang fix, and I’m happy to say I’ve never been disappointed before.

Xin Sheng Gor Hiong Prawn Cracker (新生五香虾饼) is a Boon Lay Hawker stall that sells the classic “Ngoh Hiang” dish. It has two branches – the other outlet is located at Taman Jurong Food Centre.

This popular stall has been featured by various media outlets before, and has also won quite a few food accolades over the years.

In case you didn’t know, “Ngoh Hiang” is a unique Hokkien and Teochew dish that consists of a variety of fried ingredients and vegetables such as ngoh hiang (after which it is named), fried chicken wing, prawn cracker, squid, century egg, fried beancurd, fishball, taiwan sausage, etc. These ingredients are usually served with fried bee hoon and a sweet chili sauce.

Delicious Ngoh Hiang

I enjoy eating at Xin Sheng Gor Hiong because the ingredients are always very fresh and delicious.

My favourite is the deep-fried prawn fritters, which have a wonderful savoury and crunchy taste.

The ngoh hiang is also cooked very well, with delicious crispy skin and juicy meat fillings.

Good Service

Another reason I like eating here is because the service is really good. The stall uncle is always very polite, and my food usually arrives within 10 minutes or less.

If you are ever in the West of Singapore, I highly recommend that you check out Xin Sheng Gor Hiong Prawn Cracker. Even though it may be a little out of the way, the delicious Ngoh Hiang will definitely be worth your time.
