The Market Bangkok – Newer Version of Platinum Mall Opens in Bangkok!
After the recent opening of IconSiam, there is another awesome new mall to check out in Bangkok: The Market Bangkok. This spanking new six-storey modern shopping mall is like a newer version of Platinum Mall! It is home to a variety of fashion boutiques, cafes, restaurants, wellness shops, and more. Fashion and Accessories
The Market Bangkok has two full floors of fashion boutiques! The layout of the shops reminds me of Platinum Mall. The prices are rather similar too – this is definitely not your high end luxury mall.
Wellness
There are a few wellness shops on the fourth floor, including a few hair salons and the very popular Let’s Relax massage parlour. It always feels heavenly to get a authentic Thai massage after a full day of exploring Bangkok – I’m sure you can relate too!
Restaurants
There is a large variety of awesome cafes and restaurants here, such as popular Korean Fried Chicken joint Bonchon Chicken, Baan Ying, Inter, After You, and many more.
Cafes
Other than restaurants, there are many cafes in The Market Bangkok to take Instagram worthy photos. Everyone is excited about the adorable Domo-kun Café. And of course, there is a KOI outlet here too, so you can sip on your delicious bubble tea while shopping around the mall.
Food Court
The food court is another awesome dining spot. The food goes for around just THB 50 per dish, which is very affordable considering that it is located at a modern shopping mall.
However, it is also very crowded because it is very popular with shoppers. Make sure you don’t go too late because some of the food sell out by around 7.30pm.
Conclusion
Most Singaporeans who go to Bangkok enjoy shopping at Platinum Mall, though to be honest it is not the nicest place to walk around. You have to jostle your way around, and the place has become slightly run down over the years. Therefore, it’s awesome that The Market Bangkok has popped up, giving us another great shopping option. The soft opening of the mall was just a a few days ago on 14th February 2019, therefore many of the shops are not open yet. The mall will probably be more vibrant in about a month or so.
