6 Awesome Things to Do In Iseltwald, Switzerland – Waterfront Dining, Hiking, and Scenic Cruise

In this article, I will be listing down a few of the things you can do in Iseltwald. This beautiful lakefront village is located along Lake Brienz in the Bernese Oberland of Switzerland. It is a popular stop for tourists taking the Lake Brienz cruise between Interlaken and Brienz. 1. Dine at Strandhotel Restaurant

Strandhotel Restaurant is a lovely waterfront restaurant in Strandhotel. This quaint Swiss hotel is located just steps away from the boat dock.

The restaurant offers spectacular views of Lake Brienz and the snow-capped mountains.

According to reviews, the food is really delicious, with the most popular being the fish dishes. This is because the fish come from the lake so they are really fresh. The prices are reasonable too.

2. Stroll Along The Lake

After lunch, you can stroll along the lake while waiting for your boat to arrive. You will get to enjoy the beauty of Lake Brienz’s shimmering turquoise waters. 3. Landing Stage

The Iseltwald Landing Stage dock provides the perfect photo op to take amazing pictures of the gorgeous lake and alpine views. And of course, this was also the beautiful spot where Jeong-hyeok played his dreamy piano music for Se-ri.

4. Hike from Iseltwald to Giessbach

Outdoor enthusiasts will be happy to know that it is possible to hike between Iseltwald and Giessbach. This is an easy and popular 5km hike.

The path goes along the lake and through Iseltwald, before leading into a shady forest. The end point is the boat dock near the beautiful Giessbach waterfall.

It was also on the cruise boat that the depressed Se-ri heard Jeong-hyuk’s beautiful piano playing and found the courage to continue living (a wistful scene from “Crash Landing On You”).

6. Stay in Iseltwald

If the main objective of your Switzerland holiday is to relax, then you can consider staying in Iseltwald. This quiet Swiss village is the epitome of serenity, and you can go hiking, dine at the hotel restaurants, enjoy the amazing alpine views, and relive your favourite Crash Landing On You scenes.

However, other than that, there isn’t really much to do in this small village. It is also quite far from other popular towns in the region like Wengen, Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, etc. Therefore, I would suggest just dropping by for a quick visit as part of your Lake Brienz cruise.
