Personally, I feel that the best way is to take the coach bus because it is really convenient and affordable. Method 1: Coach Bus

As mentioned, I feel that taking the coach bus is the best way to get to Woodbury Common Premium Outlet.

There are several bus companies available, but I recommend going with ShortLine (operated by Coach USA). This is because the bus ticket is sold at a great price on Groupon. In fact, it is the lowest price that I can find online.

More importantly, we have personally taken this bus twice to Woodbury Commons before. Both trips were very smooth and comfortable.

Step 1. First, I bought the round-trip bus tickets from Groupon.

Step 2. On the day of our trip, we went to the Port Authority Bus Terminal (five minute walk from Times Sq – 42 St Metro Station) and collected our tickets from the ShortLine counter on the second floor. I showed the staff the Groupon receipt saved on my phone and she printed our tickets.

Step 3: After that, we went to the bus berth immediately and boarded the bus.

When returning from the outlet mall, the queue at the bus stop was very long, and we had to wait for the second bus instead. Therefore, you should go to the pickup point much earlier than the scheduled departure time.

Method 2: Private Shuttle Bus

If you are travelling in a group or with young children, you can consider the private shuttle service by Manhattan Transfer Tours (MTT).

This is probably the most convenient method because MTT will pick you up directly from your hotel. Booster and car seats for children are available too.

However, it is significantly more expensive than taking the coach bus.

Method 3: Car

If you like driving, you can consider renting a car to get to Woodbury Common Premium Outlets. I saw plenty of parking lots at the mall.

Woodbury Commons is located in Central Valley (Route 32), a straightforward one hour drive from New York City.

You will need to take Exit 16 off the New York State Thruway (I-87) to Harriman.
