Another Hound Café (Bangkok) – Classy Restaurant Serving Delicious Thai-Italian Fusion Food at Siam Paragon

One of my favourite places to eat in Bangkok is Another Hound Café, a classy restaurant located at Siam Paragon that offers good food at pocket friendly prices.

Another Hound Cafe is a beautiful and elegant restaurant that serves delicious Thai-Italian fusion food.

It opened its first branch at Siam Paragon in 2005 and is the upscale offshoot of Greyhound Café, which is in turn the F&B concept of famous Thai retail brand Greyhound.

Since then, Another Hound Cafe has expanded to open two other branches at the Emporium and Central Embassy. The wife and I visited the Siam Paragon outlet.

Menu + Popular Dishes

The menu offers a variety of Thai and Italian specialties, including signatures such as the Fresh Oyster Platter, Ravioli with Shrimp and Thai Spices Filling, Greyhound Famous Fried Chicken Wings, Phad Thai with US Scallops or Shrimps, Thai Style Crab Meat Linguine, and Crab Bomb With Rice.

There is also a variety of desserts, sweet beverages, tea, and mocktails. The restaurant does not serve alcohol.

Classy Ambience and Great Service

I really liked the vibe of the restaurant. The ambience is one of understated elegance, with comfy leather chairs, dark wood furnishings, and whimsical chandeliers hanging from high exposed ceilings.

Full length windows allow for plenty of natural daylight to flood the restaurant, accentuating the black walls and dark coloured fittings.

We were lucky enough to get a seat by the window which gave us a good view of the external forecourt.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and our food arrived soon after ordering.

Thai Style Crab Meat Linguine

The Thai Style Crab Meat Linguine (THB 450) consists of linguine served with generous portions of crab meat, asparagus, and Thai herbs and spices. It is topped with lemon zest and rocket leaves.

On the whole this fusion dish had a well-balanced combination of savoury, tangy and spicy flavours. The linguine was cooked perfectly al dente, and the crab meat was fresh and juicy. I highly recommend this satisfying pasta dish.

Fried Chicken Wings in Fish Sauce

Next, we savoured the Fried Chicken Wings in Fish Sauce (THB 150). This is a signature Greyhound dish, and we were not disappointed. The mini chicken wings were fried to perfection and had a rich savoury flavour. It felt really good to chew on the tender and juicy chicken meat in my mouth.

Calamari Fritti with Tartar Sauce

We also ordered the Calamari Fritti with Tartar Sauce (THB 170). This classic Italian appetiser dish was quite tasty, and I liked that it was not overly greasy. I still prefer the fried wings though.

Conclusion

Personally, I feel that Another Hound Café is an awesome value-for-money restaurant that offers an elegant dining atmosphere and delicious fusion food at a great price point. Even though it is branded as an upscale dining joint, the prices are actually really reasonable. One minor downside was that they charge for water, but that is not a big issue. (And perhaps they could have come up with a more creative name?)
