Hands and Heart Cafe (Bangkok) – Stylish Minimalist Cafe Serving Specialty Coffees and Brunch Items
During our holiday in Bangkok, the wife and I visited Hands and Heart Cafe, a beautiful cafe that serves specialty coffees and simple Western style dishes.

Coffee craftsmanship
The cafe is located at the ground floor of a condominium in Thong Lor (Sukhumvit), a hip district that is home to many trendy cafes and eateries.
It was founded by Thai locals Firm and View in 2015. Both of them are extremely passionate about coffee, and Firm is also a competitive coffee brewer.
They roast and hand-brew their own coffees, using premium coffee beans sourced from all over the world.
I don’t really drink coffee so I don’t know how to appreciate the dedication and craftsmanship that go into brewing these coffees. Coffee connoisseurs will definitely be more excited to visit Hands and Heart Cafe than me.
Other than the cafe, the owners also run Hands and Heart Coffee Roaster, a coffee roastery that is a more of a B2B concept.
Beautiful Minimalist Design
Inspired by Teshima Art Museum in Japan, this monochrome themed cafe boasts an aesthetically pleasing minimalist design.
Frosted ceiling glass panes and large side windows allow for plenty of natural sunlight to flood the cafe, further accentuating the clean lines of the bright and airy space.
Naturally I had to go into Instagram husband mode and take plenty of photos of the wife.
For some reason there is a sign at the entrance stating “Fashion photoshoot is not allowed!”, even though the cafe’s own Instagram account features plenty of pretty photos of the cafe interiors and staff.
I was impressed by the beautiful design of the cafe, but from the pictures I saw online I thought the space would be bigger.
The cafe also offers free WiFi and electrical power points.
Inconsistent Service
There were two staff in the cafe when we visited. One of them was really nice and friendly, while the other looked like she was having a bad day.
When I asked her for an extra pair of cutlery she gave me a blank expression before asking her more amenable colleague to do it instead.

The menu features a variety of specialty coffees, all day breakfast items, simple Western dishes, home-baked pastries, desserts, and other beverages like teas, juices, and “Mama’s Herb Drinks”.
Breakfast Bacon Set
We ordered a Breakfast Bacon Set (THB220), a simple dish which consists of bacon served with toast, scrambled egg and salad.
It was quite satisfying to eat the crunchy and savoury bacon with the luscious scrambled egg. The salad provided a refreshing balance.
Iced Black Chocolate
We also had an Iced Black Chocolate (THB140), a chocolate drink that is topped with creamy milk foam.
Other than being extremely Instagrammable, this drink was very delicious too. It was milky and sweet, with a rich chocolatey flavour.
Conclusion
On the whole, Hands and Heart Cafe is an elegant space that offers decent food and drinks at reasonable prices. It is also a great spot for coffee connoisseurs to enjoy a variety of premium hand-brewed coffees. I recommend paying a visit to this hidden gem in Thong Lor, Sukhumvit.
