Pak Chong Night Market, Khao Yai – Authentic Local Market Selling Street Food, Local Produce, and More

One night during our holiday in Khao Yai, my family and I decided to kill some time at Pak Chong Night Market before making our way for dinner at Midwinter Green. This is my full review of the local market!

Pak Chong Night Market

Pak Chong Night Market is a small night market in Khao Yai selling street food, local produce, cheap clothes, and other fashion accessories. The stalls are lined along both sides of a short street that is around 600 metres long.

Street Food

Like all night markets in Thailand, I saw plenty of vendors selling sumptuous street food. These included barbecued seafood, waffles, skewered meats, mango sticky rice, pork trotter rice, and more. I was especially impressed by the huge prawns!

Local Produce

There were also several stalls selling local produce like vegetables, eggs, fresh fruits, and more.

Cheap Clothes

Around half of the night market is home to clothes stalls. The clothes were cheap, but they were not as trendy as the ones sold at Bangkok night markets. Nothing caught my eye here.

Conclusion

Annoying tourist

We only spent around 30 minutes at Pak Chong Night Market, because as mentioned we just wanted to kill some time before dinner. The night market may not be as vibrant or large as the major night markets in Bangkok, but it is definitely a great place to visit at night in Khao Yai. I especially liked that the market has an authentic local vibe – most of the people here were locals instead of tourists. Note that the market only opens from around 5pm onwards.

Hi, this is a great market if you happen to live in Pak Chong or nearby. Most of the Thai food you are craving for, fresh fruit and clothes and fashion accessoires, some household goods etc., the lot.It is a bit unfair to compare it with markets in Bangkok, this is the province and doing just fine.

There is a morning market also (a few meters up the road to the north) which provides delicious local Thai breakfast items. We go to both markets regularly and still detect new and surprising food and other stuff.
