Thames Valley Khao Yai – Gorgeous Countryside Resort Inspired By The Charms of Southern England
During our holiday in Khao Yai, my family and I asked our Klook driver to bring us to the Thames Valley Khao Yai hotel. This was because we had seen many beautiful pictures of it online and wanted to check it out for ourselves. It was hard to believe that such a place actually existed in Khao Yai, Thailand!
Thames Valley Khao Yai
Thames Valley Khao Yai is a charming hotel designed like a traditional English manor. The hotel grounds are beautifully landscaped, complete with quaint English architecture, lush trees, a koi pond, and stone arch bridges.
Gorgeous Architecture and Scenery
My family and I entered Thames Valley through a small garden maze. The children had fun running around the maze and it is a good photo opportunity too.
Once inside the compound, I was amazed by the gorgeous English style architecture! It truly felt like I was in the English countryside, minus the hot Khao Yai weather of course.
we saw an apple tree!
I simply loved the lush greenery and manicured landscape. The hotel compound is home to tall pine trees, willow trees, and even an apple tree!
There is also a lovely stream with stone arch bridges running through the hotel. I took a closer look at the stream and was pleasantly surprised to see many koi swimming inside.
The Castle Restaurant & Tea Room
We decided to take a quick tea break at The Castle, which is the only restaurant in the hotel. The menu offers a variety of Western dishes, Afternoon Tea, alcohol, and sweet beverages.
Like the rest of the hotel, the restaurant is beautifully designed in quaint English style. I liked the pastel shades which gave the restaurant a soothing and relaxing vibe.
I was impressed to see that even the washroom is beautifully designed!
We ordered some cold drinks and smoothies to cool down. They were quite expensive but were perfect for drinking in Khao Yai’s hot weather.
The restaurant offers outdoor seating as well.
Service was decent. The restaurant staff were quite polite and our drinks came fast.
Conclusion
Out of all the themed attractions we visited in Khao Yai, Thames Valley Khao Yai has done the best job of recreating its desired theme. The hotel’s ultra-realistic English architecture and natural beauty made me feel like I was in Southern England instead of Khao Yai.
Unfortunately, because we were not staying at the hotel, we could only admire the beautiful premise from the restaurant. I would have loved to take a stroll around the tranquil compound!
Note that if you are not a hotel guest, you will need to spend a minimum amount in the restaurant to avoid paying the parking fee.
