In this article, I will be listing down 10 awesome hotels to stay in Khao Yai for tourists. In recent years, Khao Yai has become a very popular destination for tourists looking for a tranquil getaway within easy reach of Bangkok.

Understanding Khao Yai

Khao Yai is a large national park in Thailand. It became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005.

However, when tourists talk about “Khao Yai”, they are usually referring to the Pak Chong District, which is a rural area north of the national park (see map above).

This area is home to popular tourist spots like themed attractions, animal farms, vineyards, sunflower fields, themed hotels, etc.

It only takes around 2 to 3 hours (depending on traffic) to drive from Bangkok to Khao Yai.

As you can see from the map above, all the hotels in this list are located near popular tourist attractions (indicated by orange boxes) within the Pak Chong district.

I do not recommend staying in hotels outside the area of this map because you will need to spend a lot of time on travelling. The 10 hotels below are categorised by price range: Budget, Mid Range, and Luxury.

Budget

1. Balios Resort Khaoyai

Balios Resort Khaoyai is a large resort in a very convenient location. It is right beside Palio Village (an Italian-themed tourist attraction), and there are various restaurants in the vicinity.

The rooms are a little dated but they are spacious and clean. There is a decent swimming pool, and the hotel grounds are well-maintained.

2. Isaan Isan Resort Khaoyai by Andacura

Isaan Isan Resort Khaoyai by Andacura is a mountain resort located right next to Khao Yai National Park. This new hotel opened recently in January 2019.

This is a good place to stay if you enjoy being close to nature. Guests will find themselves surrounded by lush greenery and teak trees. The rooms are spacious with a rustic design.

3. Escape Khao Yai Hotel

Escape Khao Yai Hotel is a modern resort that offers rooms with private pools and great views of the national park. Guests can also relax in the large swimming pool at the centre of the resort. There is a live performance and sumptuous dinner buffet by the pool every Saturday night.

Mid-Range

4. U Khao Yai

U Khao Yai is an elegant hotel designed in the style of a French country manor. It is home to lush gardens, tranquil ponds, a large swimming pool, a luxury spa, and a French restaurant.

The hotel offers excellent service. There are no time restrictions for checking in or checking out, and guests can choose to enjoy their complimentary breakfast at any time of the day.

5. dusitD2 Khao Yai

dusitD2 Khao Yai is a modern and stylish resort located near Khao Yai National Park. It is part of the “Dusit International” hotel chain.

It offers spacious rooms with awesome views, a beautiful swimming pool, a treetop private dining pod, fun outdoor activities, and even an alpaca farm.

I had a very pleasant one-night stay here! It surpassed my expectations in every way: the room was modern and clean, the surroundings were beautiful, the breakfast was delicious, and the hotel amenities were great.

6. Romantic Resort & Spa

Romantic Resort & Spa is a large family-friendly hotel that offers clean and spacious rooms, wonderful mountain views, well-equipped toilets, and private balconies. The staff are very friendly and the hotel is well maintained.

7. Botanica Khao Yai

Botanica Khao Yai is a modern resort with 116 rooms, including 69 suites. Guests get to enjoy spacious rooms with infinity pools and wonderful mountain views.

Luxury

8. atta Lakeside Resort Suite

atta Lakeside Resort Suite is a large hotel comprising nine multi-storey blocks. The rooms are spacious and offer wonderful views of the mountains. The bathrooms are impressive too, with a rain shower and big bath tub.

The breakfast buffet spread is good, but the restaurant can get a little crowded during peak holiday season. There is a small gym and pool in the hotel too.

9. Thames Valley Khao Yai

Thames Valley Khao Yai is a family-friendly hotel designed like a traditional English manor. The hotel grounds are beautifully landscaped and guests will feel like they are staying in the English countryside.

The rooms have balconies that offer wonderful views of the mountains. The mini bar is complimentary, and is stocked with snacks like Pringles, Oreos, and soft drinks.

10. Muthi Maya Forest Pool Villa Resort

Muthi Maya Forest Pool Villa Resort offers secluded luxury villas that each has a private pool, jacuzzi tub, and private garden. Guests get to enjoy wonderful views of nature as well.
