Soi Aroy – Hidden Gem Restaurant Serving Delicious Thai Food, Now With Islandwide Delivery

Soi Aroy is a Thai restaurant chain in Singapore known for their rich collagen soups and delicious Thai food. It has two branches, located at Sim Lim Square and the Singapore Management University (SMU). I recently checked out their food delivery and this is my full review.

The restaurant opened its first branch on the second floor of Sim Lim Square in 2018. A year later, it opened another outlet at SMU.

Although it is a relatively young establishment, Soi Aroy has garnered plenty of positive online reviews due to its delicious food and excellent service.

I was impressed to learn that they are the number one Thai Food restaurant in Singapore on TripAdvisor.

If you are planning to dine in or order takeaway, you can buy this 15% discount voucher from Klook.

I was pleased that the food was still quite warm upon arrival at my house. The delivery staff was friendly and helpful too.

Signature – Soi Aroy’s signature dish is the Collagen Soup, which goes through a 12-hour long simmering boil to coax all the natural flavours out of the meat and bones. The result is a rich, creamy and nutritious broth without any MSG.

Popular soup flavours include the Premium Tom Yum Soup, Tom Yum Gung, and Northern Thai Pork Ribs Soup.

You can pair the soup with noodles, rice, or Thai Mama instant noodles.

Mains – The menu also offers a selection of standard Thai dishes like Basil Pork Rice, Pad Thai, and Papaya Salad.

Side dishes – Popular items include the Grilled Pork Cheek, Prawn Fried Omelette, and Thai Fish Cakes.

Desserts – Check out the Mango Sticky Rice, Mango Sago and Candy Floss Wraps.

Drinks – I recommend the Aurora Cooler (butterfly pea flower tea with lime juice) and Thai Iced Tea (my favourite). You can even add tapioca pearls, grass jelly, or aiyu jelly to the drinks.

Tom Yum Gung

The Tom Yum Gung ($7) came with Thai freshwater prawns, straw mushrooms, an egg, some vegetables, and Thai mama instant noodles.

The collagen soup base was spicy and sour with a creamy texture. It was really satisfying to slurp up the noodles with this delicious broth!

Northern Thai Pork Ribs Soup

The Northern Thai Pork Ribs Soup ($7) consists of a fiery-looking collagen soup base, along with toppings of meatballs, pork ribs, and vegetables.

The collagen soup base was creamy and fragrant, with a rich meaty flavour, quite a bit of heat, and a tinge of sourness.

The pork ribs were surprisingly tender, and the meatballs were tasty and juicy. The noodles were slightly soggy, probably because of the delivery process.

Basil Pork With Rice

Basil Pork With Rice ($6.80) is one of my favourite Thai dishes, and I’m glad that Soi Aroy did not disappoint. The minced pork was tender, feisty, and savoury.

Prawn Fried Omelette

The Prawn Fried Omelette ($9) was very tasty. I really enjoyed eating the plump and juicy fresh prawns.

Thai Fish Cake

The Thai Fish Cake ($5) was decent, though I would prefer to eat it at the restaurant so that I can enjoy it hot.

Kang Kong with Squid

The Kang Kong with Squid ($9.80) was a tasty dish great for eating with rice. The serving was really generous too.

Spicy Pork Salad

I was surprised by the generous amount of minced pork in the Spicy Pork Salad ($5.80). For just $5.80, this dish was really good value for money.

Mango Sticky Rice

My favourite dessert was definitely the Mango Sticky Rice ($5.80)!

Doused with the luscious coconut milk, and punctuated by the crunch of fried mung beans, this classic Thai dessert was a joy to eat!

Tapioca

The Tapioca ($3.80) consists of large tapioca chunks doused in a sweet creamy sauce. It tasted decent. Order this if you are a fan of tapioca.

Mango Sago

The Mango Sago ($3.80) is a classic dessert dish and it’s hard to go wrong with this sweet treat.

Thai Iced Tea

The Thai Iced Tea ($3) was really delicious! Soi Aroy pulls its tea, so the drink was still very creamy and aromatic despite the ice melting during delivery.

Aurora Cooler

The Aurora Cooler ($3.80) consists of iced butterfly pea flower tea and lime juice. It is Soi Aroy’s signature drink.

Make sure you stir the drink because the blue-coloured tea turns into a brilliant purple after mixing with the lime!

This refreshing drink had a sweet-sour flavour and was perfect for drinking after a heavy meal.

Conclusion

Soi Aroy dishes out quality food in generous portions at affordable prices. Almost all their dishes cost below $10, so you are really getting bang for your buck. While I enjoyed their food delivery, I’m looking forward to dining in at one of their restaurants soon.
