Recently, you might have seen pretty floral bubble tea cups appearing on your social media feed. These are from Chun Fun How, one of the latest bubble tea shops to open in Singapore.
Chun Fun How (春芳號)
Founded in 2014, Chun Fun How is a Taiwanese bubble tea chain best known for their floral-themed cups and Sweet Potato drinks series.
It currently has 14 Taiwanese outlets, along with overseas branches in Hong Kong, Canada, and Indonesia.
Chun Fun How opened its first Singapore branch at The Esplanade on 21st March 2020.

The extensive menu offers a variety of drinks series like Aloe Vera, Winter Melon, Pure Tea, Sweet Potato, Tea Latte, Fruit Tea and Milk Tea.
There are two toppings available: tapioca pearls and aloe vera. You can customise the ice and sweetness levels.
All their ingredients are directly imported from Taiwan.
The recommended drinks are:
– Lychee Four Season with Aloe Vera ($6.60)
– Sweet Potato Black Tea Latte with Pearls ($7.60)
– Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea ($5.80)
– Winter Melon Lemonade with Pearls ($6)
– Winter Melon Oolong Tea ($5)
Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea with Pearl
The Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea with Pearl ($6.60) was sweet with a rich and creamy texture.
However, compared to other bubble tea brands, the pearls were not very soft or chewy.
The oolong aroma was very subtle, and the light osmanthus flavour felt more like an afterthought.
Overall, it felt a little like I was drinking regular milk tea. It was still quite satisfying though!
Lychee Four Season with Pearl
The Lychee Four Season with Pearl ($5.90) is made from longan honey and natural lychee juice.
Note that the drink is quite sweet since it comes with honey by default, so you may want to request for a lower sweetness level. I ordered 30% which was just nice for me.
The drink was refreshing with a rich lychee fragrance. I preferred this over the Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea.
Conclusion
Chun Fun How has managed to stand out from other bubble tea brands with their Instagram-worthy floral cups. Their drinks are decent, but not really fantastic. It remains to be seen if they will survive in Singapore’s ultra-competitive bubble tea scene.
