Yifang Fruit Tea – Famous Taiwanese Bubble Tea Shop Serves Refreshing Fruit Teas

While most bubble tea shops in Singapore specialise in sugar-laden drinks like milk teas and brown sugar milk, Yifang Taiwan Fruit Tea focuses on serving refreshing fruit teas instead. This article was last updated on 07 October 2020.

Yifang Taiwan Fruit Tea is a famous Taiwanese bubble tea chain known for their delicious fruit teas. It has around 70 outlets in Taiwan, as well as overseas branches in many countries like Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, USA, Australia, etc.

In fact, the first time I got to try Yifang bubble tea was at the Bicester Village outlet mall near London.

Yifang opened their first Singapore branch at Orchard Gateway in December 2018. Interestingly, it was quite a low profile opening without much fanfare, and I only discovered the bubble tea shop when walking past it recently.

In October 2020, they opened their second outlet at Change Alley Mall.

All their drinks are brewed with Taiwan tea leaves, harvested from local tea plantations in Mingjian, Lugu and Sun Moon Lake. No artificial flavourings, juice concentrates, syrups, or creamers are used.

As mentioned, Yifang specialises in Fruit Teas. Their signature drink is the Yifang Signature Fruit Tea ($5.50/$6.50), which can be served cold or hot.

They also have a “Tea Latte” series, which are coffee-flavoured drinks made with fresh milk. A popular option is the Taro Latte ($5.70/$6.70).

Other recommended drinks include the Pouchong Green Tea ($2.70/$3.50), Brown Sugar Pearl Latte ($5.30/$6.30), Green Plum Green Tea ($4.30/$5.30), and the Yakult Series drinks ($5.50/$6.50).

The toppings available are pearls ($0.80), aiyu jelly ($1.50), and grass jelly ($1.50). Both the sugar and ice levels can be customised.

Yifang Signature Fruit Tea

I ordered the Yifang Signature Fruit Tea ($5.50), which came with a fork so that I could eat the fruits inside. I requested for zero sugar because I wanted to taste the drink’s natural sweetness.

This was one of the best fruit teas I had ever tried! It was super refreshing with rich fruity flavours and a fragrant tea aftertaste.

I loved how it tasted so natural – you can tell it really doesn’t contain any artificial flavourings.

After finishing the drink, I ate some of the fruits inside and they were fresh and juicy too.

Green Plum Green Tea

The Green Plum Green Tea ($5.50) had a light and natural tangy flavour that tasted different from other plum bubble tea drinks.

This is probably because they use real plums to make the drink. And even though the sugar level was zero, the drink wasn’t overly sour due to the plums’ natural sweetness.

I added pearl toppings too. Yifang’s tapioca pearls are smaller than normal pearls, and they were very soft and chewy.

How To Poke The Straw

I didn’t follow the above method and it was a little difficult to poke the straw in. Apparently you need to poke it into an empty space in the cup.

Conclusion

Despite being located in Orchard, Yifang Taiwan Fruit Tea is one of those “hidden gem” bubble tea shops that is still relatively undiscovered by Singaporeans. Check out their signature fruit tea if you’re in town, and you will understand why I am such a fan.
