Lam’s Garden 林苑 – Zi Char Eatery Famous For “Twin Towers Crispy Noodles”, With Islandwide Delivery

When I first saw Lam’s Garden’s famous “Twin Towers Crispy Noodles” on my Instagram feed, I was intrigued by this striking dish. I got to check out their food delivery recently and was happy that I could recreate these “twin towers” at home. This article was last updated on 23 July 2020.

Lam’s Garden

Lam’s Garden is a Chinese restaurant located at a quiet corner on the second floor of City Gate shopping mall.

The kitchen is helmed by Chef Lam Loon Tuck, who was previously head Chinese chef at Hotel Jen. He has also worked at Shangri-La and Traders Hotel before.

The restaurant was originally located at Golden Mile Food Centre. At the start of this year, it relocated to Sultan Gate for a few months, before moving to City Gate mall.

Menu

Check out Lam’s Garden’s full menu. They also have family meal promo sets.

The restaurant is famous for their Twin Towers Crispy Noodles ($10), which comes in a sumptuous broth comprising sliced fish, prawns and clams.

The Fish Head Steamboat ($30 to $60) is made from a secret broth base that’s simmered for hours daily.

Other than the above two signature dishes, the menu also offers a variety of other zi char dishes such as Seafood Bee Hoon ($6), Claypot Mee Tai Mak (S$10), Har Jiong Chicken Wing ($10), Sambal Sotong ($15), etc.

Twin Towers Crispy Noodles

My favourite dish was definitely the Twin Towers Crispy Noodles ($10)! This striking dish consists of two “sheng mian towers” perched on a broth filled with sliced fish, clams, and prawns.

I was happy that the noodles were packed separately for delivery, so that I was able to recreate this iconic dish at home.

The broth was savoury, flavourful, and thick, clinging onto every strand of the crispy noodles. They were quite generous with the seafood too. Overall a very satisfying dish.

Chilli Sweet Clams

The Chilli Sweet Clams ($12) were cooked well and it was satisfying to eat these chewy spicy-sweet clams. Order this dish if you are a lala fan.

Crispy Garlic Spring Chicken

The Crispy Garlic Spring Chicken ($15) was tasty with a pleasant garlicky flavour, and the portion was quite big too. It wasn’t exactly “crispy”, which was probably due to the delivery.

Garlic Sauteed Watercress

Lastly, I had the Garlic Sauteed Watercress ($6) which was quite tasty. Other seasonal vegetables include Kang Kong, Kai Lan, and Chinese Spinach.

Conclusion

Lam’s Garden offers quality zi char dishes at reasonable prices. This is definitely a good option for delivery if you’re having a craving for Chinese comfort food.
